Create a Beautiful Spiritual Legacy with the Inspire Bible

Inspire is a single-column, wide-margin New Living Translation Bible that will be a cherished resource for coloring and creative art journaling. It is the first Bible of its kind—with over 400 beautiful line-art illustrations spread throughout the Bible.

There are all kinds of supplies that are great for Bible journaling and coloring, so how do you decide which ones are for you? Find out in the list below!

9 Tips for Buying the Best Bible Journaling Art Supplies

If you’re unsure about which brand or type of art supplies to purchase, search online and watch videos to see what other people are recommending. You will eventually figure out what your “favorites” are.

Add to your supplies as you go. Don’t go out and purchase everything under the sun at the beginning. Just start with the basics!

Always test your supplies on a page in the back of your Bible before using it on a page you care about. Some people make charts to show how much ghosting a particular pen or marker shows.

To prevent colors from bleeding through, prep your pages with clear gesso. Some brands are less grainy than others. Decide what you are comfortable with and go for it!

Using watercolors is a great way to color, as long as you’re okay with crinkled pages.

Acrylics are also fun! A bit of crinkling happens with this as well.

Embellish your Bible with washi tape, tabs, tags, tip-ins, clips, stickers, and other scrapbook supplies. This will make your Bible thick with “extras”. Stamps are another fun way to embellish pages, and so is embossing. The list is endless!

Don’t be afraid to just get started. Read your Bible, meditate on God’s Word, discern what God is impressing on your heart, pray about it, visualize how you might express the verse or passage, and GO! It may not turn out exactly the way you intended, but there is something beautiful about this because we are like that too! We are wonderfully imperfect.

So, be inspired. You were uniquely designed by a God who delights in you just as you are. He takes pleasure in your art and in every moment you spend with Him. Don’t forget to use your art to inspire others by sharing what God is doing in you.
